Bullshit. Although emotions are an important evolutionary 'bolt-on', particularly for mammals, it is in a mother's interest to ensure that her offspring, hence genes, reach reproductive age, ensuring her own genes thus propogate. And don't even attempt to begin to think about telling me what adult human love is. I chose my partner for reasons other than reproduction. - "Maternal love stops when a child is 33 months old. - Unbelievable bullshit! According to this book only men feel jealousy and the purpose of the feeling is "to encourage men to punish female infidelity" (page 53)? And that "women often trigger jealousy to verify monogynistic love" because if a man gets jealous it means he's in love with the woman (page 54). In other words, Mark Devon is saying that if a man uses physical violence against a woman it is her own fault! Preposterous! Do note that this book is a work of fiction and that there are no references to any resources or research results, anywhere.
