- Very biased, and very contradictory in some places, but I think the general message is true, at least for marijuana. Some drugs don't need to be legal, because people who use them don't realize what they're doing in their drug-induced high and can hurt other people. But I do think that marijuana needs to be legal, even if everything else doesn't necessarily need to.

- This site lists a number of problems that are caused by the prohibition of drugs. The arbitrary prohibition of certain drugs creates infinitely more death and destruction of lives than the drugs do themselves. Virtually all gang violence in the country is attributable to the fight over territory in which to sell illegal drugs, you don't see that kind of violence with legal drugs like alcohol, but you used to back when it was prohibited. (Al Capone etc.) (thanks dina1979)
