redyns rated 15 months ago- They found him. His outstretched hand was blue and flat like space beneath a swallow's wing. His mouth was slightly open as though he wished to sing. --Wadih Sa'adeh, "Mysterious Sky" ~ Wadih Sa'adeh was born in the village of Shabtin, in northern Lebanon. In his own words he describes it as "a place where the people, fields, trees, rocks, birds and animals were one family. Nature was part of our being. The soil and the people were one." When he was about twelve years old he moved to Beirut. Here everything was much different from the village and depressed him. It was at this time that he began to seek solace in writing poetry. In his book A Secret Sky he writes about the people who died in the war in Lebanon or had to leave the country of their birth and a glimpse of a tragedy of his homeland. ~
