I am an avid reader. I have spent too much time watching parents forbid children the oddest books. I was real happy to have my kids spend less time in front of the TV and to see them read anything!

From the page: CAUTION! This site features books some people consider "dangerous."

even with the internet and other media, books are still incredibly powerful, since they don't require much technology to spread their message

Anything that highlights the gross stupidity and paranoia of the "Thought Police" gets high marks from me!!!

The next time you can't decide what to read, check out the lists on this site. There are many good books here, good enough that people wanted to read them but were told they couldn't. In these books are ideas that someone decided others did not need to know. So the next you can't decide what to read next, curl up with one of these. You just might find yourself amused and enlightened. And how often do you get to do something that's fun, might actually be good for you, and get to say "FUCK YOU" to the proponents of ignorance at the same time?

Very interesting read. All the stupid reasons why people want to ban books.

" Censorship ends in logical completeness when nobody is allowed to read any books except the books that nobody reads." ~George Bernard Shaw, Irish playwright and critic (1856-1950)
