- the dalai lama writes the essays that all of us should read--i wish i had been able to listen to him when he came here last month. read the essay called "compassion." he says that unless we are direly ill, the most important health to have is our mental health, and that that is based on being loved. wise words. if we stop and consider as we listen to others, so often we are able to give them compassion, and that way or via empathy, not sympathy, we are giving them love. it goes a long, long way. try it, you might like it.
