I hate to break it to "stickingissues" but they altered the pitch by a half step up on the nickleback thing too... or maybe I have the special "altered but standalone" version? True, it's only the difference between an E and an F but it's a half-step and not "no ch...

I hate to break it to "stickingissues" but they altered the pitch by a half step up on the nickleback thing too... or maybe I have the special "altered but standalone" version? True, it's only the difference between an E and an F but it's a half-step and not "no change at all"Nearly all music is a formula these days...And that leads me to believe that there's a computer somewhere composing these songs, and then someone just takes a teenager's angsty "I hate lief" poem to make the words...And oh yeah, there's a difference between "Adopting a style" and "repeating a formula"... To put it in cooking terms, adopting a style would be cooking with lots of spices, but making totally different dishes... repeating a formula would be looking at a recipe to determine how much of each item to put in... One takes talent, the other doesn't (other than following directions)

While the structure are the same, if you listen to the MP3, you can hear that they changed the pitch of the songs (or at least Numb) to match each other. Unlike the Nickleback thing where both songs are left in their original state, this guy altered the pitch to bust LP for making the "exact same songs." Therefore I don't really think it's fair to say that all songs are exactly the same. Sure it's a lack of ingenuity if they're recycling the same structures over and over, but at least they're smart enough to change keys.

I've noticed this.

Nice concise analysis of LP songs. Nice to see this instead of just the general 'LINKIN PARK ARE ANGSTY' sort of retort.

I knew that they all sounded the same, but this is ridiculous.

Funny that I stumbled across this..... The wife and i just saw them on TV and I asked the same thing. Don't they just put different lyrics (sung in the same way nonetheless) over the top of the same damn song. No need to actually write anything new if it works eh?
