i like how one of the reasons this country was founded was because we were tired of a king forcing the countries religion upon us, This is a christain country... last time i checked it was suppose to be a free country

I am actually shocked people get treated like that for being atheist, in America. I guess that's because I'm British and we seem to be pretty accepting of all religions.

Girl has guts, but you have to wonder whether Dad isn't using her as a proxy to stir up trouble. That said, it does seem that this public school is not only allowing, but endorsing, prayer at school events -- the charges of persecution, etc. are anecdotal and unclear. The report itself is suspect: Right from the beginning it seems a little too determined to tell a story of intolerance. It gives very little time to the other side and it doesn't even bother to investigate the veracity of all the charges flying around.

How disappointing (and fucking illegal, I believe). What good is being religious if you're doing such damage to your gospel? Let us hope justice is served. It's time for a wake up call.

Some similar stuff happened to me at school as a rather outspoken atheist... I wasn't on a basketball team or anything but people did start calling me satanist. But laughing in their faces seemed to make them be quiet and not everybody was a dick to me. The teachers were cool about it. The top person in our class was a christian douche though and we always argued.

This is insane. Christians expect to be treated with respect but they can't do the same for other people? I'm also an atheist living in a predominately Christian town in the south and when people find out that i'm not a Baptist, they call me a satanist and tell me that i'll burn in hell and they try to convert me on the spot. I don't say the pledge of allegiance and I don't participate in our morning "moment of silence" at school and you would think I had 6 eyes or something! It's about time for atheists to stand up and say something.

Whats funny about this is that it's reminscent of how blacks were treated in the '50s - and that was a terrible crime against human nature!!!

THIS is Christian behavior??? I think not. This humiliation goes so far beyond supposed Christian beliefs that it's absurd. Just another example of why I myself will not be caught up in that insanity. Watch the video...and tell me what YOU think.
