What a professional looking blog! I have rarely seen browns look this sharp together. Lay out top notch, images colorful, commentary interesting. Very good writer.

An amazing and in-depth blog in various subjects, particularly on the current growth and development in Asia and its subtle and not-so-subtle impact on the rest of the world. Great artwork also :) Thanks Laodan!

Iaodan's stumbles are wide and deep, reflecting a person who thinks about what is happening in the world and in himself.

A stunning, thoughtful and thought-provoking blog. Edit: Since posting this, I have used the Stumble button, and discovered I-a-mutant sent me the link to laodan's pages - how spooky is that? - Just shows the I-a-mutant knows class when he sees it.

Mentally and visually challenging pages; thoughtful stumbles that, not surprisingly, reflect the ideas in this stumbler's own book. From Laodan's SU page about his book Artsense: "'This book is about history, philosophy, religion, power, science and... the worldviews proper to the men of knowledge at any given time in history. My thesis is that the worldview of the men of knowledge is what forms the substance that has been illustrated in paintings along the whole time-span of visual arts. In my conclusions I then posit that after having been through a phase of "non-sense" for some time painting is bound to shine again soon the light of wisdom.' In my view scientific imaging today is the leading force in the visual arts... artists are now in the rear guard of artistic innovation and I thus think that they have to make "knowledge" the focus of their attention."

Laodan is my 5555th visitor and I was impressed with his thoughtful reviews. From the page: The meaning of life is to be found in thinking about what is reality. Beauty is to be found in our ADN's memorization of all forms that have been successfully retained along the four billion years of evolution of the principle of life on Gaia our earth. I like reading, painting, writing, colors, nature and tranquility.
