Finally a site that actually illustrates the benefits of each fruit and vegetable. I'm so sick and tired of these darned lo-carb diets telling everyone to count their darned carrots! It's a carrot - EAT IT!

Mmmmm Olives. From the page: "Olives are the Food of the Week This week we celebrate olives. Olives are one of our oldest foods and are believed to have originated in Crete between five and seven thousand years ago. After olives are harvested, they must go through special processing methods to reduce their intrinsic bitter taste and acquire the great taste that we associate with olives. Olives are a good source of iron, dietary fiber and vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage from free radicals. They are also rich in health-promoting oleic acid, a health-promoting monounsaturated fat, which promotes heart health, and a newly discovered anti-inflammatory compound called "oleocanthal." "

It's funny, I stumbled upon this as I was eating ice cream...it was the very first page I found as I opened my browser. Anyone smell the irony? On the other hand, I think I maybe coming back to this site and put the ice cream down...

It's a good site for recipes, and also for other kinds of nutritional information such as why you need Omega 3 oils and what kinds of foods have them.
