jackd rated 39 months ago- Someone finally did it right! It's cheaper than almost all the other services (starts at $10/mo for 40 songs), you can preview all of the music, they have lots of quality stuff (400,000 songs, mostly independent), and it's all MP3 with no DRM lameness. Plus, as of now you can get 50 free downloads if you sign up (which requires a credit card which _will_ be billed the following month if you do not cancel - so keep that in mind). Still, I'm pretty stoked about this; it's the fulfillment of almost every "Why don't they just..." thought I've had in regards to online music sales. And the Violent Femmes have an exclusive release (Something's Wrong) through them (which is why I signed up in the first place).

Mac-ind-Og rated 39 months ago- MP3 music download store

Paul-in-London rated 39 months ago- excellent download site for indie fans; the choice is limited but there are some interesting artists on here. Worth looking at if you are looking for something different. Word of warning though: Avoid any 'classics rock' or read reviews first as they are often bad re-recordings

DrMoxie rated 49 months ago- Best value for your money with a comprehensive collection of jazz, indie rock, and electronica.

pilpi rated 50 months ago- too bad it requires a credit card and they tell you this in non-small print only after you register.

Joseph rated 59 months ago- Cool, legal indie music site.
