- Simply beautiful! From the pages of a dear friend and an extraordinary person!! Allow Another long weekend Defined by quietude Pervaded by solitude Nothing to punctuate This stultifying monotony Other than the usual Cooking, eating and sleeping So I find myself staring At the flickering screen Getting lost in nonsense Dangling a line In the virtual pond When all I really want Is to be in the presence Of another human being Alas I have nobody No close friends To change the energy Or take me out of myself But I can always venture outside Into the bosom of the Great Mother Where my mind is relieved Of this sense of isolation For Nature in the raw Redresses the imbalance And illuminates the darkness Of a self-pitying mind I long for tenderness And tactile embraces There is nothing to compare To losing yourself In the eyes and arms Of the one you love Though even hermits such as I Can have our senses enlivened By the warmth of the sun And the gentle breeze Which caresses our skin Our ears can delight At Nature's subtle symphonies We can savour the splendour The sights and the scents Of this wild paradise so near There's always a temptation To seek happiness through another But once in a while just sit back Take time off from your thoughts Allow the beauty of the world In all its totality To find its own way to you Ben Llewellyn - September 2007
