sceptic rated 13 months ago- I teach science and this is spot on. Everything is being dumbed down in schools. Everything. It's all going to end in tears I tell you....

Joeybback rated 13 months ago- From the page: "physics ... replaced with impotent science media studies" ..... That sums it up quite aptly.

tharglet rated 13 months ago- Mathematical based subjects aren't for everyone, but there are those of us, largely ignored, who like this sort of stuff. I did physics at A level, but am better off in the computer science realm, as that appeals more to me anyways...
Sad to see this happening. It's as if us math types are being phased out of the UK... I don't really want to move to India XD.
The post in caps, while coming to around about the right conclusions, I suspect built on the wrong reasons. Will be sad the day people have to vote with their feet.- Mathematical based subjects aren't for everyone, but there are those of us, largely ignored, who like this sort of stuff. A very interesting if also disheartening read.
Unfortunately exploring and pushing the limits of our children's education is a thing of the past.
With every year that passes, a school subject be it science or a humanity one, is made
more accessible and easier to comprehend.
Students' abilities and real potential are being continually underestimated
and ignored by school examiners and boards in the interests of maintaining
a consistent high standard pass rate.
I could moan for hours on this subject...*sigh* but I'll stop here.

I am going to need to think about this.

stevedtrm rated 14 months ago- THE US AND THE UK ARE TRYING TO TURN PEOPLE INTO ANIMALS NOW. LARGELY SCHOOLS IN THE UK AND USA ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP PEOPLE AWAY FROM KNOWLEDGE.
THERE SHOULD BE A LAW PROHIBITING THE GOVERNMENT FROM PROVIDING ANYTHING BEYOND GRANTS FOR EDUCATION, THEY SHOULD NOT BE CONTROLLING THE CONTENT.
Parents if you see this, PROTECT YOUR KIDS FROM SCHOOL, USE ANY LOOPHOLE U CAN FIND TO EXCLUDE THEM. Ive been suspecting global warming is being used as a political red herring for some time now:- "The number of questions that relate to global warming is appalling. I do not deny that pupils should know about the topic, nor do I deny its importance. However, it should not be the main focus of every topic. The pupils (and their teachers) are growing apathetic from overexposure."- THE US AND THE UK ARE TRYING TO TURN PEOPLE INTO ANIMALS NOW. LARGELY SCHOOLS IN THE UK AND USA ARE DESIGNED TO KEEP PEOPLE AWAY FROM KNOWLEDGE.

VestalInc rated 14 months ago- This is too bad really,...not a good sign.
