- i saw that first on mythbusters. the amount of voltage it makes barely does jack, but at least they were able to make something back then.

- This is the Baghdad Battery and it is believed to be about 2000 years old. The jar produces about 1.1 volts. It's incredible what we have lost during the dark ages. This reminds me of that Greek clock work.

- I saw an episode on Mythbusters not to long ago that referred to this battery.. I'm glad to finally see it..

- I've stumbled sites talking about this as a "mystery" battery with all sorts of really ridiculous speculation on it's use. It's great to finally see this amazing piece of ancient technology given a serious practical explanation.
