sharkjohnson rated 33 months ago- It's true that being a vegitarian helps. The equivalent amount of food in meat form takes up a lot more land space, energy, and water than does produce. Still, I guess if everybody lived like me we would need 4 and some earths. I hope this website doesn't just make people feel helpless.

- Needs much tweaking, but good anyway.
jesscarpenter rated 33 months ago- interesting site that calculates how many acres it takes to sustain you, and compares it to averages for your country. Also has an acreage reduction calculator that includes ways we can increase our efficency.
emume rated 34 months ago- so apparently I suck at living because if everyone lived like me, we would need 6 planets! lol i dont think that is necessarily true but I guess it makes you think about the impact you're having on the earth.
Fire271 rated 33 months ago- Hmm...only 2.1 planets for me...Weren't we trying to get people on Mars (as if there aren't enough of us anyway)?

- They make a good point but fail to point out that the world is vastly overpopulated with humans anyway. This misinformation leads to a certain unbalance in reported information and leads to a (potentially unnecessary) guilt-trip for anybody who is a 'bit well-off' (i.e. anybody who would access this website anyway. reina-mysteria rated 34 months ago- Interesting. We've only got one planet, and we need to take care of it.
placerau rated 34 months ago- CATEGORY ACRES
FOOD 6.9
MOBILITY 4
SHELTER 2
GOODS/SERVICES 5.4
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 18
IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.
WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.
IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 4.1 PLANETS.
EARTH FIRST! WE'LL MINE THE OTHER PLANETS LATER!
