qwazy4u rated 13 months ago- Great source of info. Kind of an intimidating list at first, but if you are interested in escaping Microsoft, you should look into desktop Linux (eg Ubuntu) and then you will want to know where you can find Linux equivalents and alternatives to MS software.

The only thing it costs is your time to learn some new software, but most of it works pretty similar to its Windows counterpart that it usually doesn't have too much of a learning curve. I won't be upgrading to Windows Vista, rather, my next computer will have Linux on it. I'm not one of these Linux zealots bent on the destruction of the Microsoft conglomerate. I'm moving to Linux for the simple reason that it makes more sense to me financially and ethically because I can't afford to spend huge amounts of money on Microsoft Office and all of the other software needed, and I feel a lot better about myself if I don't have to resort to a crack. Of course, I'm also working on my own Open Source project to give back to the community that has given me so much, but more on that later...
