definitely worth doing---be yourself---only hummingbirds aren't the dainty little creatures i was lead to believe. soooo, if you're gonna be little, be a hummingbird and skewer the world. thanks to runaway mule for the wonderful links speaking of hummingbirds--they are actually intelligent, noisy, aggressive, vicious little creatures. i have two feeders out this time of year, by the screened-in back porch. one attached to the outside wall, the other about 10 feet away, hanging from a pole. if more than one comes into the area at one time, they will fight for dominance. a certain bird, i call it mini mema, will light in the branches of the pecan tree shading the feeders and wait for another to feed. this ornery little creature will then dive bomb the feeding bird, making a whirring, chirping sound on the way down. and if mini mema hits one of the other birds, there is an audible thump. one afternoon i went out to refill one of the feeders and found a dead hummingbird on the ground with a bit of blood on its little body. two of the creatures have learned to work together--one will lead mini mema off while the other feeds, then vice versa. i have also learned to be grateful for the screen protecting me from these mini monsters. one week i ran out of hummingbird feed--the birds would fly from one feeder to the other, upon seeing them empty, they would fly to the screen directly in front of me and glare threateningly across the porch. that day i went and stocked up on food for fear of a revolt of the hummingbirds. (can't ya just see them chirping, "attica, attica" ?!? [there i'll be protected by flimsy screen and them with their little metal cup sliding back and forth on the screen and a fork on one wing] )

I found this stumble profile because he'd tagged a page with "scouser" apart from the reviews, his site is well worth a visit - purely quotations - well worth tabbing through for inspiration or even just to while away a bit of time!

I thought he would be one of those stumblers that would thumb up just about everything, but I was wrong. Beautiful blog, full of poetry.
