When I'm out in the field working I can feel the world around me and I understand the subject better. Art is really a state of mind as much as it is a creative outlet. When you are surrounded by nature and you can feel the wind and the sand lift up from the beach, you can really tell that we are more a part of nature than most believe. I ask myself, what is it about the world that makes it beautiful. Is it simply because I am part of the world? Or is it something deeper in the darker corners of the human mind."
