I'll pbobably get flamed for this, but... Once upon a time they certainly were king, but these days I can't see that they are any better than Yahoo's search. Ok, Google is a bit cleaner looking, but Yahoo has steadily improved over the last year, and I can't see any diff. in quality anymore. On top of that Yahoo offers me access to tons of other stuff I use daily. Check out: Google Search: hotmail - Results 1 - 100 of about 21,700,000 for hotmail. (0.46 seconds) vs. Yahoo! Search: hotmail - Web ResultsResults 1 - 20 of about 53,900,000 for hotmail. Search took 0.21 seconds. They both return hotmail at the top, but google makes it look like they fetched a bad page - "Sign-in Access Error Hotmail. Sign-in Access Error. JavaScript required. The browser that you are using does not support JavaScript, or you may have disabled JavaScript. Help. ... " Here is what it looks like on Yahoo: "Hotmail free web-based email service from MSN. Category: Free Email Providers" which one looks better to you???

Now that google filed for their $2.7 billion IPO it has become just like any other bloated tech firm drunk with power (in many ways it already has). Google will surely be answering to its investors and not the needs of its users. GMail blows..(email me and I'll invite you) I've been using it. Its core search is hard to be beat.. but tell me something else that's cool (and works 100% of the time) about google. The firm has more vapor-ware announcements than Microsoft. And now it will surely become as pompus and arogant as Microsoft.. I'm now going to start looking for a better search engine.. Bah.. Hum.. Bug..

Google stopped running an activist group's ads after they learned the group was protesting one of their clients, Princess Cruises, dumping their waste into the ocean.
