I really like this little minimalist survival tin. There is a lot of really useful stuff packed into a very small space and the tin itself can function as a signaling device or a handle for a saw. I'm sure the saw would be of very limited usefulness, but it would be better than nothing. I could imagine combining this with the paracord weave to make a survival belt or necklace, or even simply as a way to ensure that it stays closed but still provide easy access to open it. As others have said, finding a way to stuff a little compass into it would be a nice addition to whats already suggested in the article. Its a great little piece of compact scrapyard engineering.

From the page: "Bennett's Expedient Survival Tin (BEST) This kit is designed to be a 72-hour kit. It is designed to be small and portable, but also to be effective in providing for the Survival "Rule of Threes.""

A minimalist survival kit in an Altoids tin. The only things missing are a button compass and some mutated anthrax for duck huntin'.

Another keeper for the tool kit. I always carry a minimalist kit with me when I leave the pavement. This will be a great additional to throw in a fanny pack or such.

VERY GOOD IDEA. JUST ADD A COMPASS AND AN ASSAULT RIFLE AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO.
