From the page: "Wal-Mart goes after brain-injured mother of fallen soldier" Who cares about the facts fellow knobshots, the facts as I see them is that the money won in court was for her longterm care, not the stay in hospital that the lorry driver put her in. Can't believe your legal...

====== Sweet mother of god, I love living in amerika! My country,' tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing; land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims' pride, from every mountainside let freedom ring! My native country, thee, land of the noble free, thy name I love; I love thy rocks and rills, thy woods and templed hills; my heart with rapture thrills, like that above. Let music swell the breeze, and ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song; let mortal tongues awake; let all that breathe partake; let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong. Our fathers' God, to thee, author of liberty, to thee we sing; long may our land be bright with freedom's holy light; protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

This is a pretty pitiful indictment of capitalism, especially since the writer has no clue of that which he is condemning. Nothing in this set of circumstances has anything to do with free markets.

ok! so lets do some math... she got 471k from wal-mart insurance. 0+471k=471k she sued for 1mil and won... 471k +1000k= 1471k and then paid her lawyer (which I think is a ridiculous ammount) 530k... so 1471k-530k= 940k and wal-mart wants back the 470k... 940k-470k= $470,000 after paying wal-mart. something smell like fish.

From the page: "Two years after the accident, Debbie and her husband Jim were awarded approximately $1 million in a lawsuit against the trucking company involved in the accident. After legal fees were paid, the remaining amount of $417,000 was placed in a trust to pay for Shankâ€s long-term care." This lady's lawyer knew damned well that the family was not entitled to any money until the insurance company was paid back, yet people want to blame Wal-Mart. Get over it. While it is an unfortunate instance, there is no mention that over 1/2 of the settlement never made it into the family's hands in the first place - just the lawyer's. Another article written by a complete moron who actually believes the Marxist drivel he spews. There is also no mention of whether or not her insurance is continuing to pay or her care - a question that most certainly should have been answered by any competent journalist.

From the page: "The story of the Shanks underscores the urgency for all working-class people to unite to smash the profit system once and for all. " Dumbass. First off capitalism had nothing to do with the families problems, it was the government that stole 470k from them to give to walmart. then it was the government not capitalism that got her son killed. stupid fucking commies.
