Evolution is a fact which is directly observed.
People just can't understand the difference between Darwin's theory and evolution.
In biology, evolution is the process of change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. And this has been directly observed. It is also known as a change in a species over time. The genes that are passed on to an organism's offspring produce the inherited traits that are the basis of evolution.
Evolution itself does not explain from where certain species came from, Darwins Evolution theory or Natural Selection theory on the other hand does...
So most of these "Evolution is just a theory" movements come from a simple misunderstanding...

Evolution is a FACT. Darwin's theory attempts to explain the FACT of evolution. Dont confuse scientific Theory (an explanation of a FACT) with everyday Theory (a guess).

- Evolution is a theory. It has a lot of supporting evidence that suggest it is true; but since it cannot be directly observed, evolution is a theory.
