- An elaborate example of the devastation a tornado can cause. I'm very lucky to live in a country where tornadoes are a very rare occurrence.

- nothing like a good aerial shot of a city to show the true level of destruction. It's like playing SimCity and seeing your city before and after you unleash an earthquake or something. Tornadoes are pretty damned powerful though... it leveled this town.

- My family and I drove through Greensburg during a summer trip to my daughters.
These pictures try to show the devastation, but until You stand on one of the streets of this town, seeing it yourself, will you truly understand what occurred here. No houses just foundations and debris. All the trees are just stumps all about the same height. I didn't see a single resident out and about. On one end of town there was a building left standing with a sign out front, the message was one of hope for the future. The other end of town were several MASH type tents put there by the red cross.
