This looks pretty interesting. I wonder what the complete story is.

operation: bike raid NYPD pigs with nothing better to do than swipe bikes locked to posts and parking meters.. I hate pigs.. not cops, pigs, you know the difference as soon as you talk to one. One day.. one day we'll fucking rise up and change things, until then, we can all sit content and be glad it wasn't us. After taking still photos, Carnevale switched his digital camera to video mode, filming the cops in action. At one point, he approached the plain-clothed Lt. Corcoran, who was obviously in charge of the operation. Annoyed that Carnevale asked him for his name, Corcoran mumbled it. When asked to repeat his name by spelling it, Corcoran told him: "You got my name, I did you a favor. . . . now I'm going to lock you up." In addition to arresting Carnevale, Corcoran busted a woman passing by who dared to ask what was going on. He charged both with "Disorderly Conduct" and put them through the system. @markchenjd, I bet you are a cop or an attorney or worse.. I bet my middle nut you're on a City Council somewhere.. someone with an agenda... ok I peeked, Law Student.. now I forgive you.. lol

This doesn't make any sense! Why would cops just randomly take people's bikes. There are no laws to having your bike chained to street signs or parking meters. If there is i like to see it. and if it does exist seriously what law gives authorities the right to just take property? also charging people for disorderly conduct when all they were doing was asking questions. cops seem to hate that a lot and will do quite a bit to shut you up.

And may god bless this great country, where passers-bye can get arrested for showing interest in a police inquiry.

I would bet that there is a city ordinance against locking bicycles to city property or perhaps blocking a pedestrian right of way. My guess there are also abundant signs warning cyclists not to leave their bikes on public property.Gosh it could even be that the people arrested were in fact rude disruptive and actually deserved the citation for being a dope in public. Makes you wonder why these nuts couldn't put their bikes in their own apartments where personal property belongs huh? Just chilling to see how far the left will go to provoke an incident. On the other hand it is also hard to understand why the police had to take this kind of action rather than work in the community to achieve compliance. It is however how parking enforcement has to be performed sometimes. Obviously, there are very important facts missing from this page of Internet garbage. Very bad writing IMHO.

There's obviously a ton of missing information here. People will believe anything it seems, as long as it fits into their world view.

HAHAHA Sounds like Houston Cops to me. They have the same mentality here in Houston. They arrested a bunch of young people gathered at K_Mart parking lot and in a nearby restaurant, cost the city millions in lawsuits

I'm gunna have to go with "apocowarg" on this one. There is clearly data missing. This is a little too black hat even for cops. What, they starting a bike shop? There's got to be more here.

Obviously no one should be arrested for peacefully confronting a cop, but isn't it illegal to leave bikes locked to street signs and parking meters? I doubt we're getting the whole story here.
