chricols discovered 6 months ago- It was bright and shiney and reflected the light And it filled her tender young heart with delight The gold and the diamonds fit smooth on her hand With enough room left for a wedding band The sparkles lit envy in the eyes of her friends They commented slyly that it all soon would end But nothing could dim the light in her heart HE had told her that they would never part They'd gone together to buy the ring She was sure the assistant could hear her heart sing They took their time trying one after another And tried not to think how they might tell her mother For he had a job and she still was at school And everyone thought she was just a young fool She couldnt know what was in her own mind Or begin to realise that love could be blind Whatever they said, she refused to hear The love they shared was perfectly clear He had proved that he cared when he bought her a ring How could they think this was only a fling It was bright and shiney and reflected the light And it filled her tender young heart with delight The gold and the diamonds fit smooth on her hand With enough room left for a wedding band CC
