poogie777 rated 7 months ago- Huckabee has my kudos as well...
mikayf rated 7 months ago- If he was so confident and forceful about something that really exists, like biological evolution of the species, I might not think he was an idiot. But he doesn't, he confidently and firmly believes that the zombie son of a selfish sky-daddy is gonna save us all. Idiot.
matthewbhere rated 6 months ago- Don't be duped by this disingenuous political SPIN answer. When people ask Huckabee questions about evolution and the age of the Earth, they are NOT asking whether God had something to do with the creation of the universe. (He just spins it that way) What they are trying to ascertain is if he believes in Evangelical Literalism. (ie the idea that the world is only 6,000 years old and there were dinosaurs on the Ark)
He knows if he says he believes that, much of the country (rightly) will think he's a kook, but he also knows that if he says he doesn't believe that he'll alienate his Evangelical base. So he reframes the question into "Does God exist?", and dodges the original question.
What he believes about these issues DOES matter in terms of him becoming president, because it shows he's willing to believe in irrational things in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, and that's a character flaw that would make me question his decision making abilities as a leader. Imagine if he applied that faith-based reasoning to any number of decisions he'd make as president. (ie should I nuke Iran?)
alaoa rated 6 months ago- It's sad that in this country we elect out representatives and leaders based upon what kind of facade they con portray. Even though i know me and huck don't share the same views you have to respect him for this answer. "We don't know". The universe is a mystical thing how it was created will all makes sense once we can get off the wheel.
DasNichts rated 6 months ago- "You will find plenty of them (atheist candidates)" Oh if that was true...I pray to god for the fulfillment of this dream.
OneGyT rated 5 months ago- I haven't been the biggest Huck fan, but this answer was excellent.
asorensen rated 5 months ago- great answer. I personally think it was 6 time periods. But another way to look at it is that God can make things old. Water changing to wine is creating something new that ordinarily would take years to produce. So the earth could have been created "old".
Lee-Malasoda rated 4 months ago- I don't believe in what he's saying, but he says his position with an elegance and wit not commonly seen in politicians.

- You don't have to be an atheist to believe in evolution. In fact, I would argue that anyone who does not believe in evolution simply hasn't done their homework. I think Hukabee and those who side with him are really short-changing their god because evolution is frickin sweet. IF your god exists, evolution is his/her prime achievement.
AynRandfan rated 4 months ago- I don't want the most powerful man in the world to believe in Jewish zombies who can walk on water, born from a virgin. Call me crazy, but I enjoy a rational president and I don't enjoy theocracy and Dark Ages.
