We're watching the big corporations profit, engineer kill-genes in their highly gm-crop that will stultify the neighboring plants in their efforts to reproduce, the lungs of our world blackened in the desperate clutch at the quick-money of biofuels, and Australia's failed rice crop, all contributing to this perfect storm of not enough food for everyone on the planet. We don't keep a year's worth of food for everyone in storage - not in this day of just in time delivery - we're up shit's creek on this one in a HUGE way - we've got nothing to give them - sure Egypt can have the army make cheap bread, and we can give food stamps for now in the U.S., but what do we do when it's not only the poor suckers living on less than $1 a day who can't afford to eat? We're going to have turmoil the like of which the world hasn't seen in a very long time. Make sure you've got some kind of bunker or at least a reference library so you can learn how to turn that stupid, useless green lawn into something that you can eat.

Food Riots BeginA video [mainstream, CBS] news report on food riots beginning due to 40% increase in food prices since mid 2007. It's not only the U.S., it's worldwide.
