I hate to say I liked this video. It is well done and grips your heart. I fear the people who need to see it are not the ones who will. The video reduces the statistics to small enough numbers anyone could grasp their significance. I liked it but I hate the truth it shows us.
Thank you to whoever stumbled this one! I remember not too long ago giving a negative review to an older version of this list that was filled with inaccuracies. Fantastic that someone did the research and updated it with such a wonderful presentation.
From the page: "The Miniature Earth" just the fact that you are reading this comment or seeing this video means youre better off than a vast majority of of the world. take a look at what happens when the world is proportionally reduced to 100 people.
Don't feel guilty or sorry... just be grateful Buckos. Forget the shit and appreciate the shinola. OR, you could just be like VP Cheney: "So?"

This video reminds me of the thought behind Pangea Day (www.pangeaday.org)which is a intended to be a global event bringing the world together through film.
As the Pangea Day site states for the reason Why?
"In a world where people are often divided by borders, difference, and conflict, it's easy to lose sight of what we all have in common. Pangea Day seeks to overcome that - to help people see themselves in others - through the power of film."
I've used this in class to explain inequality to pupils. It could be construed as over simplified or slightly inaccurate, but the message is clear and powerful.
