- A video of Ayn Rand's message to the GOP in 1961. Well worth watching. How many I wonder have the courage to be truly free. To stand on one's own two feet, and succeed or fail based purely upon your own merits, or lack thereof. I know why people reject objectivism (politically embodied by the libertarian party). They reject it because it's frightening to get rid of the nanny state mentality. So they choose to live as slaves to the ever increasing power of the state. To have all of their decisions made for them. Nothing to strive for, nothing to dream of. Simply place your life in the hands of politicians who promise "change". And who promise to "give" you things. Such as "free" health care. And don't worry about those islamo-facists. If we just let them know we mean them no harm they'll leave us alone. Right?
