- Kind'ah cool. I like Phillip K. Dick's, "The Man In The High Castle," better though!.....If "alternative history" is what gives your "umph" a....."voommmm voommmm" then check that book out! It's my personal fav. by him...that is besides, "A Scanner Darkly," and "The Shifting Of Realities." Heres the description of, "The Man In The High Castle," from it's inside flap to wet your palates all'yah'ahhh'lll!: "It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. the few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some 20 years earlier the United States lost a war--and is now occupied jointly by Nazi Germany and Japan." Great read alert!.....Great....great!....read!!!!!

- This might be really interesting if its starting point wasn't so completely absurd. The D-Day invasion of Normandy wasn't the decisive battle of WW2. If the invasion had failed, the war might have dragged into 46 or even longer, but Germany was doomed after Stalingrad in 42.
