- Terrible! If you want to learn proofreading properly, you should learn the ISO 5776 marks. As a graduate student, I did some proofreading work for Oxford University Press, and you'd get fired for using the signs recommended on this page. I suggest looking at the Ideography website for an introduction to the correct marks.
