Pidgin does the same thing, but with many more messengers supported, albeit it isn't web-based, and doesn't have such an elegant interface.

Bookmark it-> Right click on bookmark-> go to properties-> "load this bookmark in the sidebar" I like it this way because it loads in your firefox sidebar and you can still browse other websites and it will stay in your sidebar.

It's pretty sweet - an online client for most popular IM services; the clincher feature for me is the logging which is accessible anywhere.
