Deplorable practices by a 'news' agency, but because it's not Fox News (and more importantly the fake content works against the US and Bush), you will hear a deafening silence on the part of the left. Sickening. And some of the comments below are promoting the "fake but accurate" stance made famous by Dan Rather et al. "Well, there are some problems with the photos, but Bush and Israel are still commiting war crims, so why does it matter?" Don't let facts get in the way of your preconcieved notions of the war - if it were so horrible and there really are war crimes, WHY DO THEY NEED FAKE PHOTOGRAPHS? Answer: blank out.

Life is dramatic enough without this. The saddest thing about all these staged photos? It hurts the real reporting of the horrible things happening. Because it forces us to question not only all the photos we have seen, but to wonder about the reporting of facts as well.

All right, some (digital manipulations and misrepresenation of a photo)I can get pretty irritable about. But can we remember that photography never really represents real life? Photographers and photojournalists have ALWAYS staged things for political and visual impact. They always will, Reuters contractual or freelance hippies.

Reuters is covering up the fact that they are really dropping candy-floss and rainbows on people?

This gives an eye opening look at the dramatic sensationalism present in media companies. However, the assertions made by the website that reuters is involved in a politically motivated conspiracy seem unlikely. This is one sloppy news team at work. Photographers did the same stuff in the American civil war, and now they are in museums hailed as "photographic artists". Now imagine how many 'talented' photoshoppers, dishonest photographers and editers are out there, and NOT getting caught.
