saw a science channel program about that first cave. they need to keep it flooded (it's natural state) so that the crystals don't degenerate. it's pretty hot in there, they say on the show. GREAT show.

These worms use bioluminescence to attract flying cave insects. Once the victim is ensnared in the gloppy strands, there is no escape. The worm begins gobbling back the sticky strand until it reaches its meal.
