imorgen discovered 3 months ago- All I can think of to say on the matter is "Ha!"

- It's not very often you hear this side of the story, generally it's a Wal-Mart pushing some small company out. Good to see local business fulfilling the needs and wants of the community.

qthews rated 3 months ago- Italians don't hate McDonalds "per se", (they are quite full at every time of the day), but surely McD offering vs Altamura Bread (with or without a topping)... no contest! :-) Maybe kids and teens may like McAnything more, i think that Altamura Bread taste is more a grown up one. There are many trucks that drive from Altamura to Milan (some 800 km away) everyday to bring it there... and you have to know where they sell it... and be fast! And for McDonalds opening in historlcal places... if they try to integrate to their surroundings (read no big M and no 2 meter tall yellow clowns around disrupting the feeling of the place, more simply if they demonstrate a little common sense) i have nothing against it.

Per quanto riguarda McDonalds che aprono in contesti storici o di particolare interese... se si integrano nel contesto (evitando enormi M e clown gialli alti 2 metri, cioe' se usano un po di buon gusto e buon senso) io non ho nulla in contrario.- Italians don't hate McDonalds "per se", (they are quite full at every time of the day), but surely McD offering vs Altamura Bread (with or without a topping)... no contest! :-) Maybe kids and teens may like McAnything more, i think that Altamura Bread taste is more a grown up one. eckonc rated 3 months ago- Fast food in Italy is not well accepted. Why would someone want a nasty cheeseburger when they can have amazing rustic homemade food? Fast food is for the tourists and the kids until the novelty wears off.

jenchillla rated 3 months ago- I _must_ have some of this bread.

patoloco rated 3 months ago- Is it un-American to wish this to happen in the U.S.?

- Absolutely! Who, in their right mind, would choose a Mc D's burger over some wonderful, freshly baked bread with beautiful fresh toppings in ITALY? Not many!!! Thanks for sharing mumba! Kimberly :) http://CookingWithKimberly.com

carouselle rated 3 months ago- After a five-year battle, the fast-food giant McDonald's has retreated from a southern Italian town, defeated by the sheer wholesomeness of a local baker's bread.

metalbeast7 rated 3 months ago- ftw

amloki rated 3 months ago- Anything is better than Mac, and Italian bread, well....

DocBarleycorn rated 3 months ago- When they start selling the McSquirrel with aged swiss-chesse I'll return. Thanks to da Dot for the tip-off.
