pietertothemuze rated 8 months ago- How quiet and cosy the courtyard will be ... and the whole house. The spiral of life.

Dream houses
I have had two kinds of dream house in the
past; now I've stumbled on a new model:
Some of the other reviews scoff at this design but
for me it is perfection, especially the way it resolves
into a private courtyard at the centre.
It was Eagleme who made me think of it, with this beautiful space:
My first "ideal home" was a converted train carriage
-- travelling all over Europe, of course,
with a library and my friends on board.
My second, which came in a dream, was octagonal,
with the kitchen as a hub bang in the centre and
one open-plan space around that,
divided into different areas.
It was -- IS -- set in lush green bush.
Later I found something very similar here:
-- a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1948.

- "The center of the spiral house will be an open-air courtyard. This protected and totally private space will provide light and ventilation to most of the rooms of the house as well as being a great place to sit. It's the courtyard that makes the nautilus shell "work" as a comfortable and useful design for a living space."

- what a dumb house

zethyl rated 12 months ago- It's beautiful. I want it.

10-Neon rated 12 months ago- Cool idea, but I am not sure how good it would be in actual use. It's like when I try to make StarCraft maps based on pure geometry: practical limitations interfere with the art, reducing the actual quality of what's being made.
