People, it's currently the final and only source of communication that you and I control (and it's being diminished moment by moment). This, to me, goes far beyond scary. There is basically only one way to fight this that those who wish to control the internet will understand... by... more

meh.. I really don't see this happening any time soon. its simple - people will stop paying for their services. Also, someone will find a workaround within the first day of its implementation. We have smart people on the internet.

"not scary at all. If it is a cycle of media it is going to happen. Look at all the other cycles; economy, war, government. The best hope you have is to find the NEXT media and latch on. These fanatics always think they can change the cycle but when you look at history that just does not happen." The nature of the internet and what it has done is much ... different than other cycles in history. Technology is sliding into a new era of human existence. I know quite a few people who will become violent if necessary to protect their rights over this, and these are people who have laid down and taken what the government has done over the years. And it's not fanatical. They've been lobbying to do it for years. rofl.

I'd fight like hell to keep this Net Neutrality alive. Radio isn't what it used to be and cable TV is marginally better than TV. Now while I don't think big telecom will gain total control of the internet's contact, but I'd see enough of a backlash from the public that this tiered service wouldn't go through. I just can't see it happen.

Very curious about this topic. Would be interested in hearing the not so fanatical side in order to be a little objective.
