In this very brief video clip. An scientific argument is presented for why the Judeo-Christian chronology for the creation of the universe is flawed.

Duh, I suppose light had to always travel at the same velocity...Everything in the universe is deteriorating, but we "know" light would never slow down. That just wouldn't support our stupid theories. I feel sorry for the poor fools who suppose this Saganism is rational thought.

Scientific thought vs fundamentalist dogma.

I've never heard or thought of this argument before, but it's a great one. Sagan has to be the messiah for rationalists everywhere!

we just got the time wrong. It was created billions of years ago and if by God, then I'm fine with that. Why are we arguing over some silly detail that doesn't matter in our relationship with God. We have minds given us and we use them to uncover our own misconceptions about the universe, not God's. We uncover in our scientific research just how He did create everything and no longer need to rely on old stories told by wise, but not very educated by our standards, men found through Vanvogt

Carl Sagan quickly lets the air out of creationism, using what we know about astronomy.

ignore the "A day to God is a thousand Years" statement and hes right. . . not saying that the earth or the universe is now 6mil years becaues its obviously much older. . . but theres a group of religious people who see the "Days" as stages and then you can base the 6000 on the age of "Adam" and "Eve" which is a completely diff. subject
