How delightfully absurd. Only in Japan.

Well the daleks managed to invade earth without being able to negotiate stairs, rocks, curbs or other hazardous obstacles; they at least looked cool. Maybe it wouldn't look so pants if it didn't have a pair of dodgy looking chain guns on the sides of it. To those who think that this is a step in the right direction I can honestly tell you that this has about as much to do with current robotics as those little tin robots that were popular in the 60's did. Sorry, it's only cool because someone has wasted a significant portion of their life designing and building this particular monstrosity. I just hope it helps hi score with girls - you never know.

You may laugh now, but when a giant mutant manta ray attacks your neighborhood, your life will be saved by a future refined version of this prototype.

If I ever need a way to make walking around very slowly more difficult, I'll see if I can scrape together $300,000 for this piece of crap.

Video of a mecha prototype being built by Japanese enthusiasts. I'll take two, please! One in cherry red, if possible. ;-)
