nutrient3 discovered 3 months ago- This has been one of my favorite songs this year and last. I don't particularly like Thrice, but Dustin Kensrue's solo work is good. This song is exceptional and has a strong, back to basics, Americana approach about a subject that is all too modern. While it's powerful in its simplicity, this song's real magic comes in the form of putting life in front of you and forcing you to make a decision that requires soul searching. "I Knew You Before" is vitalizing, bittersweet, and fucking awesome. That's all that counts. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
