A very interesting video on monkeys' sense of fairness. But the scholarly question is this: do they engage in what would appear to be "fair" behavior because they have been conditioned to do so (in the past, being fair has ultimately led to better rewards), are they genetically predisposed towards doing so (sharing monkeys had a better chance of survival through natural selection), or because they can actively problem solve (if I share now, they will share later)? I don't believe we have an answer yet.
