In spite of the warbling estrogen-pop soundtrack, I just couldn't bring myself to thumb down Rita Hayworth.

Oh, Rita. If I had a time machine I would traverse the fourth dimensional ether, traveling back to your primitive time. "This" I would say with an outstretched hand "is called a CELLULAR PHONE. I can use it to make telephone calls anywhere in the world! I have invented this in the future, where I am from!" Then I'd kick Harry Cohn right in the balls and abscond with her into some other time period in which I have convinced the natives that I am a god.

Man, and then the ACME Detective Agency would be all like "Someone has kidnapped Rita Hayworth from Los Angeles in 1940!" But the joke would be on them, because my string of carefully orchestrated clues would lead them right to Bikini Atoll in 1946 where they would find her... painted on the side of a nuclear bomb by randy scientists!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7e-CpDQdac I found this beautiful video in Barryweber's pages. It's clips from a Fred Astaire/Rita Hayworth film, paired with Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You". Strangely, this unlikely pairing is evocative and haunting and captures the best kind of nostalgia, along with that sense of "everything is possible". FADE INTO YOU I want to hold the hand inside you I want to take a breath that's true I look to you and I see nothing I look to you to see the truth You live your life You go in shadows You'll come apart and you'll go blind Some kind of light into your darkness Colors your eyes with what's not there. Fade into you Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it's strange you never knew A stranger's light comes on slowly A stranger's heart without a home You put your hands into your head And then smiles cover your heart Fade into you Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it's strange you never knew Fade into you Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it's strange you never knew I think it's strange you never knew

if i was a new signup and onli had the newstyle,

not onli videos but customizing ur pages as u like them and not those ugli

Thanks to my wonderful friend: http://meesha7.stumbleupon.com/ for this classic song and golden-age clip. We do have a number of old classics: Thin Man, Abbott & Costello, Charlie Chan, Hope & Crosby, The Three Stooges (lol). They just don't make'm like that anymore do they?

For anyone who's been wondering what the heck a mashup is -- I offer this delightful, delovely example: Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth dancing to Mazzy Star. Dreamy. Just dreamy. Thanks to marielaem for the find.
