- Humans are one of the best (if not the best) endurance runners on the planet. We can chase down animals like horses and cheetahs until they overheat and die of exhaustion. A cheetah will beat a human at a quarter mile anytime, but a fit human can run over 100 miles in 24 hours, which a cheetah would die trying to do.
