- The Slapping MachineThis is an excerpt for a ridiculous Japanese game show -- the deal is that none of the contestants are allowed to laugh (and this one is even filmed in a fake library to add to the pressure). For reasons beyond my comprehension, Ernesto Hoost, a championship kick-boxer, appears as one of the players on this episode. I've watched it so many times and I still get a laugh out of it! I would love to organize a game like this with some friends!

I have to admit to having been like a child watching this, as my eyes were streaming and I was wheezing and sniggering, followed by uncontrollable convulsive laughter. I couldn't remain upright in my swivel chair. The participants' expressions of anticipation only serve to add fuel to the fire. Boy does this take one back to schooldays (showing my age here! :) But let the tension build up and after the first 2 are over, the 3rd starts to grip you. It just gets funnier and funnier, not especially because the items do but because you begin to get into it (I did anyway).
