at the same time...IN AN unprecedented move, Burma's military junta has just today, shut down a Rangoon monastery linked to the recent uprising and warned other temples not to offer sanctuary to its monks, according to local sources.
Maggin monastery, a rare sanctuary for rural HIV-AIDS patients seeking treatment in Rangoon, has reportedly been raided four times since the uprising was suppressed, and its senior monk, Sayadaw U Indaka, is under arrest, detained at a secret location.
