5 years and we'll have this? Like gilgongo said, I highly doubt it. Only way it would most effectively be used is if it was produced by a new company not held down by other industries such as oil.

FYI, this video is nearly 5 years old (the registration on that new Mazda at the beginning was an 03). But fucking hell, that was v interesting to watch.

Don't worry, the oil and defence industries will make sure they don't bring hydrogen cars to mass production.

Maybe we'll enjoy something like that in the next 20 years. Hurry up and consume all the oil in the world to make it possible! :)

Lets see Scania or Volvo stick an engine like this into a 143 or FH12 Tractor unit, then I will be impressed

The car runs on hydrogen fuel cells and uses a "drive-by-wire" system - no standard transmission. It's a "concept" car, so it's not headed for production just yet, maybe after 2010.

It's only cool because of the interface. Hydrogen has it's problems such as the production of cells and storage and secondly, the most powerful force in the Western economical circle is against this: petroleum companies.

What about the power? I'm assuming its good because of vids I've seen about electric motorcycles, and that one 8 wheeled japanese care that could accelerate to 60 essentially instantly, but I'm still curious on its performance..
