- Just saw KT Tunstall on the tube and remembered that I've always intended to stumble this particular performance. It is the moment - in 2005 - that she hit the big time. She was only asked on to "Later" (Jools Holland's Friday night live music show on BBC2) because one of the other artists dropped out and she was available. She had just 24 hours to prepare. She blew our socks off. It remains the single most impressive solo musical performance (in the under 4 minute class) that I have ever seen. And you do have to see it. If you just hear it, it's a nice song, but doesn't sound that impressive. Easy to achieve in a recording studio. But to sample herself, live, and incorporate it in a multilayered performance in front of our own eyes, yeah, that was impressive. Enjoy.
