- I hope this video was not edited just to sensationalize sensitive topics.

- I think this is pretty dumb because there are a lot of other variables here than race. For instance, facial hair in the first two.

clownsonfire rated 9 months ago- Hey I have an Idea. Lets ask little kids to judge people by the way they look. Were gonna be so rich!!
Jesterwocky rated 7 months ago- It looks like somebody may have selected these images rather deliberately to make sure the children would chose the "right" images for the segment. But I suppose they wanted "a story," not an honest exploration of way race influences children's perceptions.
A few observations... The Arab man and the black man's faces are both partially in shadow--a well-known photographic and film technique for making a character look shady. The Arab man (as has already been pointed out) has facial hair, which is often seen as a bit sinister in our society (think "molester moustache") while the Asian man is fairly clean-shaven; the Arab man is looking at the viewer in a sidelong manner (again, shady), while the Asian man is looking almost straight forward (seen as an "honest" look); the Arab man appears to be talking, rather than smiling as claimed. The black man wears an openly hostile expression, while McVeigh seems merely peeved, and suppressing it at that; the black man looks to be of strong build, while McVeigh is slight; the black guy is standing, perhaps even coming toward the viewer, while McVeigh appears seated and stationary; the black man is wearing dark casual clothing, whereas McVeigh is wearing a button-down shirt (or it looks like one).
Haven't there been similar studies conducted by actual researchers? The news station might have done a story on those, rather than try to scrape together their own version.

- Well, at least they're honest about it.
M-Nome rated 3 months ago- The pictures should have been exactly the same. I agree with Jesterwocky that the Arab man's face is in shadow and he is looking from an angle. This differs from the Asian man whose face is bright, smile is big and is looking straight out at us.
Jeffsback2223 rated 3 weeks ago- Bias...
BrennaRae rated 3 weeks ago- Inherently flawed experiment! The children in a group have subconscious influence over each other's decisions, the Arab guy was dressed differently, in shadow, the black guy was frowning, the white guy was not, etc. Bad!!!
