byau rated 5 months ago- Pro and contra voices on the European treaty. Both have legitimate things to say. I personally believe that there is no other way than accepting it. Because it is more democratic than the older one. But it is very problematic. The only way to do it: Every state that doesn't ratify, has to be thrown out of the EU.

donthefox rated 4 weeks ago- What is not realised is that Ireland has only been independent for less than 100 years, this has been played down by politicians in an attempt to make Ireland a modern country. It is therefore highly unlikely that we will automatically submit to losing our independence, which we fought long and hard for, to an institution that has NO respect for our voice. We are not an anti-European country, but this treaty is not acceptable to us, and needs to be started from scratch. See http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/ireland/article4969353.ece for more on this.
