- Many believe that this is a Bollywood video - not true. Bollywood normally means the Hindi language movie industry, based around Mumbai (formerly Bombay). The dancer in the video clip here is Chiranjeevi. Contrary what it looks like here, he actually is a good dancer, despite the beer belly!
The song is from a Telugu movie - Telugu is one of the languages spoken in Andhra Pradesh in South India. The Telugu movie industry is often derogatorily referred to as Tollywood.
This particular video is from the movie Donga (1985). That explains the ridiculous production values!
This is not the only imitation of Michael Jacksons' Thriller. There is another imitation - this time from Bollywood - by Mithun Chakraborty, but it is not found on Youtube now.

About four minutes of film from (as has been noted 4 days ago) "Tollywood", that channels MJ's Thriller music video. Interestingly, the English word killer (pretty clearly, to native-English ears) is heavily repeated. Probably, despite English being the third (or even second) language of many Indians,
the word "kill" is more frequent and concrete than "thrill",
the relationship of "killer" to "kill" is much clearer than that of "thriller" to "thrill",
"killer" actually does more to suggest the thrust of "thriller" than "kill" does to suggest "thrill", and
substituting "killer" for "thriller" could do the best job of clarifying (or staying consistent with) the thrust of the original, for Chiranjeevi's Telegu-speaking fans.
Good fun, and I like the idea that not only is American culture penetrating into the culture of Telegu (whose native speakers number about like a quarter of the US population), but the flow in the opposite direction includes both southern Indian classical music and some awareness of this lighter, hybrid cultural product. I don't know how to measure the level or growth rate of what I like to think of as the emerging world culture, but I do sense its progress.

Trippicist rated 2 months ago- It's the Indian version of Michael Jackson's Thriller. It's also apparently how to be creeped out and hysterical with laughter at the same time, too.
AgingGothMom rated 2 months ago- I have no words for how awesome this video is. Seriously.
