1. Memory is 200,000 times faster than disk and so cheap we should all have 20G of memory in our PCs
2. Hard drives are better and about the same price as tape so tape backup systems are obsolete.

2. Hard drives are better and about the same price as tape so tape backup systems are obsolete.
3. Most software is designed to operate from disk and now that memory is so cheap that programs could now run entirely in memory.
